Jerry Wegiel

Jerry Wegiel is an accomplished Research Scientist Senior Principal at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), where they serve as the Principal Investigator for the Global Hydro Information project at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. With over 25 years of experience, they have successfully managed multi-million dollar environmental programs and led international scientific collaborations, notably transitioning advanced numerical weather prediction systems into operational use. Jerry has held academic roles as a Graduate Faculty Associate Professor and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, providing valuable policy, scientific, and technical guidance. They earned a Ph.D. in Meteorology from Florida State University and have contributed significantly to advancements in meteorological software and modeling systems throughout their career.
