Gavin Hodgson

Gavin Hodgson is an experienced professional in the agriculture and procurement sectors, currently serving as the Director of Agriculture, Horticulture & Aquaculture at Sainsbury's since November 2015. In this role, Gavin oversees the buying and selling of Meat, Fish, and Poultry for numerous convenience stores and supermarkets, managing a £1.2 billion P&L and leading a team of six Buyers. Previously, Gavin held several positions at Sainsbury's, including Head of Livestock, where management of livestock supply chains encompassed pork, beef, lamb, chicken, eggs, dairy, and turkey. Prior experience includes roles at Dunbia Group as Agriculture and Pork Procurement Manager, overseeing the procurement of 18,000 pigs weekly, and a Farm Manager at RV & EV Wilson. Gavin's academic background includes a City & Guilds qualification in teaching and NVQs in Agriculture from Bishop Burton College.
