Rossana Barrera started their career as the Director of Women's Health Center at Norwegian American Hospital in 1989. Rossana held this role until 2002. In 2002, they joined Health Management Services Inc. as the Director of Clinical Operations, a position they still hold. In 2016, they also became the Director of Ambulatory Care Services at Saint Anthony Hospital.
Rossana Barrera obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. Rossana then pursued a Master's in Public Health with a focus on Community Health Maternal and Child Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 1990 to 1992. Later, they completed a Master's in Business Administration from Olivet Nazarene University between 2002 and 2004.
