Omar Chukri Fakhoury MD, MSc has a diverse work experience in the field of ophthalmology. Omar Chukri started as a Research Fellow at Saint Joseph University of Beirut, Faculty of Sciences in 2008 and later became an Ophthalmology Resident at Hôtel-Dieu de France from 2008 to 2012. Following this, they pursued a Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Fellowship at APHM (Assistance Publique - Hopitaux de Marseille) from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, they worked as an Ophthalmologist at Advanced Eye Care and then moved to Clemenceau Medical Center the following year in the same capacity. In 2017, they joined BELLE-VUE MEDICAL CENTER as an Ophthalmologist. Currently, they hold the position of Program Director of the Ophthalmology Department at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center, along with being an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology.
Omar Chukri Fakhoury MD, MSc completed their education in a chronological order. Omar Chukri first obtained a Bachelor's degree from Collège Mariste Champville in 2000. Following this, they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Saint Joseph University of Beirut - Faculty of Medicine between 2000 and 2007. Omar Chukri continued their studies at Saint Joseph University of Beirut and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from 2008 to 2010. Subsequently, they pursued a Diploma in Ophthalmology from Saint Joseph University of Beirut, which they completed in 2012. Dr. Fakhoury then pursued further specialization through postdoctoral fellowships and university diplomas. Omar Chukri completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Aix-Marseille University from 2012 to 2015. During the same period, they also obtained a University Diploma in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus from Université Paris Descartes. Additionally, from 2013 to 2015, they earned a University Diploma in Medical Retina and Retinal Imaging from Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC).
