Jessica Austin began their work experience as a Field Marketing Specialist at Independent from 2003 to 2005. In 2006, they worked as a Showroom & Sales Intern at Matthew Williamson, followed by a Sales Consultant role at Nicole Farhi. In 2007, they worked as a Showroom Assistant & London Fashion Week Event Staff at Blow PR & Sales, and also participated in Naomi Campbell's Fashion for Relief 2007 event organized by INCA Productions. 2008 saw their working as a Marketing Assistant / Boutique Manager at PISTOL PANTIES LIMITED, where they planned a Spring Summer preview evening and managed online orders and press requests. Jessica then became an Assistant Shop Manager & InStore Events Coordinator at Religion Clothing LTD. In 2011, they joined Catering St Louis as an Event Planner until 2016. From 2013 to 2016, they also worked as an Event Planner (subcontracted) at the Missouri Botanical Garden, where they organized internal and external events. Currently, they are serving as a Business Development Coordinator at the Saint Louis Zoo since 2018.

Jessica Austin received a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Marketing from American InterContinental University from 2005 to 2008. Jessica also earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from London South Bank University during the same period. In 2017, they obtained a Certificate in Computer Programming from LaunchCode.
