Gia Velez

Gia Velez's work experience includes positions at various companies. Gia is currently working as the Director of People Operations at Sakara Life since September 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Human Resources at La Pecora Bianca from April 2018 to September 2021.

Before joining La Pecora Bianca, Gia Velez worked at TAO Group, where they held the positions of Assistant Director of Human Resources from December 2016 to March 2018 and Human Resources Manager from August 2014 to November 2016.

Gia also has experience as a Human Resources Manager at BR Guest Hospitality from February 2012 to August 2014. Their responsibilities included ensuring compliance with labor laws, assisting managers and conducting employee relations investigations.

Gia Velez began their career as a Human Resources Coordinator at Equinox from July 2007 to February 2012. Gia was responsible for the termination and unemployment claims process, onboarding corporate employees, and performing payroll audits.

Gia started their career as an HR Intern at Manhattan College from October 2003 to May 2007. Their duties included reviewing resumes, creating new hire orientation packages, and processing unemployment claims.

Gia Velez attended Cathedral High School from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Regents High School Diploma. Gia then pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a concentration in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, from Manhattan College from 2003 to 2007.
