Brian Puffer has a diverse work experience background. Brian started their career in 1995 as a Building Supervisor and Receptionist at McNaughton & Gunn, Inc. Brian then moved on to work for the City of Saline in 1999, where they held the position of Recreation Supervisor and later took on the role of Building Supervisor and Receptionist. In 2004, Brian joined Saline Area Schools as a Community Education Recreation & Enrichment Program Specialist, and eventually worked their way up to become the Community Education Director. During their time there, they also served as the Saline Girls Varsity Basketball Assistant Coach from 2012 to 2016. Overall, Brian's work experience primarily includes positions in education and recreation management.

Brian Puffer has a diverse education history that includes a Master's degree in K12 Administration from Eastern Michigan University, which they obtained from 2018 to 2022. Their field of study was Educational Leadership and Administration, General. Prior to that, from 1995 to 1999, Brian attended Ferris State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Leadership & Management. In 1994, they briefly attended Adrian College, but their field of study was undeclared during that time. Brian completed their high school education at Tecumseh High School, graduating with a High School Diploma in 1994.

In addition to their formal education, Brian has also obtained two certifications. Brian received a School Administrator Certificate from the State of Michigan in January 2023. Furthermore, they completed CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training from the Crisis Prevention Institute in August 2022.
