David Cusumano has a diverse work experience in engineering roles. David started their career at Northern Telecom, Inc. as a Design Engineer and later became a Senior Engineer and Senior Design Engineer. David was responsible for project scheduling, design, documentation, testing, and vendor liaison.

David then worked at Exabyte Corporation as a Senior Engineering Manager, overseeing the mechanical design of a tape drive and managing a team of engineers and designers.

David also worked at Aeroquip Corporation in various roles including Engineering Manager and Consulting Engineer, where they supervised project activities and provided engineering services to the automotive industry.

At Whistler Auto-Mation Products, they were a Senior Product Engineer, responsible for the mechanical design and development of garage door openers.

David also worked at Electro Scientific Industries, Inc. as a Product Engineering Manager, managing a team and overseeing the design of optical sensor systems.

At Visteon, they worked as an Independent Consulting/Contract Engineer, collaborating on various projects including automotive radio enclosures and high-end audio equipment enclosures.

David Cusumano earned a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn from 1976 to 1979. Prior to this, from 1975 to 1976, they attended Wayne State University with a focus on Mechanical Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, David pursued further education and obtained an MSE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, from 1980 to 1982.
