Ren Freeman

Ren Freeman, PhD, currently serves as the Director of the Indigenous Research Center and Research Coordinator at Salish Kootenai College, focusing on Indigenous research methodologies and methods. Freeman is also a Professor of Cultural Anthropology and Native American Studies at the University of Montana. Additionally, Freeman engages in personal legacy projects involving historical cultural research and trans-media development for museum exhibits and documentaries. The academic background includes a PhD in Applied 4-field Anthropology from the University of Montana, complemented by a Master's degree in Anthropology from the University of Oklahoma and multiple professional certifications in related fields. Past roles include program development at the University of Oklahoma, coordination for the Comanche National Museum projects, and contributions to the National Geographic Society's Geotourism Council.
