Andrea Scott has a strong background in education and counseling. Andrea has worked at Salt Lake Community College since 2011, starting as a University Center Academic Advisor before moving on to roles as Faculty Development and Educational Initiatives Operations Associate, OER Coordinator, and finally, Director of Open Educational Resources (OER). In these positions, Andrea provided leadership, managed operations, conducted strategic planning, and facilitated partnerships to promote affordable and accessible education through Open Educational Resources. Prior to their work at Salt Lake Community College, Andrea worked as an Employment and Education Counselor for the Workforce Investment Act and as a Substance Abuse Counselor Intern for ADDICTION & PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES, INC. Andrea Scott attended the University of Utah from 2008 to 2009, studying Substance Abuse/Addiction Counseling. Andrea then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology at Westminster University. In terms of additional certifications, Andrea obtained a Social and Behavioral Responsible Conduct of Research certificate from the CITI Program in February 2022, and a Creative Commons Certificate from Creative Commons in 2021.
