Anne Canavan

Anne Canavan is an experienced educator currently serving as the Associate Director of the Student Writing and Reading Center and an Associate Professor of English at Salt Lake Community College since July 2015. Canavan teaches the composition sequence and linguistics and coordinates the ELWS department, in addition to chairing TYCA-West. Prior experience includes roles as an Assistant Professor teaching composition, literature, and ESL at various institutions, including Emporia State University and Northern Illinois University, where Canavan also directed the English Language Learner Tutoring Lab. Educational qualifications include a PhD in American Literature from Northern Illinois University and an MA in English from Tennessee Technological University, along with a Bachelor's degree in English from the same institution.
