Joshua Sylvester

Joshua Sylvester has a strong background in facilities management and project management. Joshua currently serves as the Associate Vice President of Facilities Services at Salt Lake Community College. Prior to this, they were the Director of Facilities at Thanksgiving Point, where they successfully led the transformation of a struggling facilities operation into a proactive and organized one. Joshua also gained experience in project management at Big-D Construction, where they completed various construction projects on budget and on time. Joshua honed their leadership skills and improved processes during their time at J.R. Simplot Company, where they drove major improvements and shifted the workplace culture. Additionally, they served as a Project Manager at Noorda Sheet Metal and Superintendent at Pulte Homes, Inc., further enhancing their skills in directing teams and managing construction projects.

Joshua Sylvester holds a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management from Brigham Young University - Idaho, which they completed between 1999 and 2005. Joshua also pursued an Executive MBA (Master of Business Administration) in Business Administration and Management, General at the UNLV Lee Business School from 2007 to 2009. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Six-Sigma Green Belt certification from the Juran Institute in 2013, a HACCP Certification from Simplot Partners, Inc. in 2012, and a ProFM credential from ProFM Credential in September 2020.
