Jackson Sparkman is an experienced environmental professional currently serving as an Environmental Health Specialist with Salt Lake County since November 2024. Prior to this role, Jackson worked as a High Divide Headwaters Land Steward Assistant at The Nature Conservancy from May 2024 to November 2024 and as a Geology Field Technician at Zanskar Geothermal & Minerals, Inc. from October 2023 to March 2024. Jackson also has significant experience with Teton County Weed & Pest District, where responsibilities included leading crews and lab work focused on the detection and prevention of West Nile Virus from May 2019 to October 2023. In addition, Jackson conducted research on the evolution of parental behavior in burying beetles while a student researcher at The University of the South from October 2021 to May 2023 and worked as a student worker for the Murphy Program at Hendrix College from January 2019 to March 2023. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from The University of the South and previously attended Hendrix College and Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, where a high school diploma was obtained.
