George Turrentine

George Turrentine is a seasoned security professional with extensive experience in application security and information security management. Currently serving as a Senior Application Security Engineer and Consultant at Saltworks Security since January 2018, George previously held key positions at Verizon from 2000 to December 2017, including InfoSec Manager for Product and New Business, where responsibilities included protecting corporate and customer data and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, George established security measures for the Redbox Instant joint venture and significantly improved code security for numerous PCI applications. Prior work includes roles at GTE Corporation, where George optimized security during the merger with Bell Atlantic, and as President of U-Compute, Ltd. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Information Assurance from Capitol Technology University and a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from Texas Tech University.
