Jenna Gallegos has a diverse work experience in scientific marketing, news writing, and research. Jenna is currently working at Samba Scientific as the Director of Scientific Marketing and previously held positions as a Team Lead and Scientific Marketing Manager at the same company. Before that, they worked as a News Writer for SynBioBeta and the Cornell Alliance for Science. Jenna also gained experience as a News Editor for OUP Synthetic Biology. In addition, Jenna worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Colorado State University and as an intern at The Washington Post through the American Association for the Advancement of Science's Mass Media Fellows Program. Jenna also interned at Monsanto Company and served as a Research Assistant at the Blumenthal Lab, University of Colorado during their undergraduate years. Jenna has published numerous science stories and conducted research on trans-splicing in C. elegans nematodes.
Jenna Gallegos holds a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder, which they obtained from 2008 to 2011. Jenna later pursued further education at the University of California, Davis, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Plant Molecular Biology from 2012 to 2017.
