Matt Rodriguez has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Matt started their career at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab as a Computer Systems Engineer from an unspecified date in 2002 to an unspecified date in 2007. Following this, they worked at SDSC as a Graduate Student Researcher from September 2007 to June 2009 and as a Programmer Analyst from June 2009 to November 2011. At SDSC, they primarily worked as a Python developer on various projects, including the Ocean Observatories Initiative and CUAHSI. Matt also built web applications for the CBEO project, which has since ended.
Matt then joined Neustar as a Lead Developer from September 2011 to March 2015, where they led the development of the Web Performance Management load testing application. The application set up a distributed system in the cloud to simulate traffic to websites.
In 2015, Matt moved to Syapse Inc., where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer from March 2015 to September 2016. Matt was part of the server team responsible for building a precision medicine data platform for healthcare providers. Matt'srole involved working with Python/Django, MySQL, and Blazegraph.
Since 2016, Matt has been associated with Samba TV. Matt initially worked as a Senior Data Engineer from September 2016 to August 2018. Matt then transitioned to the position of Internal Tools and Services Engineering Manager from September 2018 to April 2021. After that, they served as a Senior Engineering Manager from April 2021 to February 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Engineering, Data at Samba TV, starting from February 2023.
Matt Rodriguez earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley between 1997 and 2001. Matt then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at UC San Diego from 2007 to 2009.
