Penny Li

Penny Li is the SVP of VLSI at SambaNova. Penny has over 25 years of experience in the hardware development industry.

Penny started their career at IBM/Keane as a CAD Engineer. Penny then moved to Avanti/ISS as an Applications Engineer Manager. In 2000, they joined Raza Foundries/Afara Websystems as a Physical Design Manager.

In 2002, Penny joined Sun Microsystems as a Senior Physical Design Manager. Penny worked at Sun for 8 years before joining Oracle in 2010 as a Senior Director Hardware Development. Penny worked at Oracle for 7 years before joining SambaNova in 2017.

Penny Li has obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of South Florida, with a concentration in computer vision. Penny also holds a MS/BS in Computer Engineering/Automaton and Control from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

They are on a team with Matt Taylor - VP, Strategic Sales and Partnerships, Amy Love - Chief Marketing Officer, and Sumti Jairath - Chief Architect. Penny Li reports to Rodrigo Liang, Co-Founder & CEO.
