Kevin Waetke

Kevin Waetke, APR, Fellow PRSA has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. Kevin has held leadership roles in various industries, including insurance, energy, and media. Currently, they serve as the Associate VP of Corporate Marketing at Sammons Financial Group Companies, where they oversee external communications strategies and internal communications. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Strategic Communications at the National Pork Board, responsible for delivering program information and messages to key audiences. Kevin has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Drake University, teaching workshops on crisis communications and reputation management. Earlier in their career, they held positions at Aviva USA, Wells Fargo, Maytag Corporation, MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company, MercyOne, WHO-TV 13, and KWQC TV-6 News, gaining experience in public relations, media relations, and strategic communications.

Kevin Waetke, APR, Fellow PRSA earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism and Mass Communications with a focus on Broadcast News from Drake University. Kevin attended Drake University from 1982 to 1986. Later, they pursued higher education and completed their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Integrated Corporate Communications from Drake University from 1990 to 1993.
