Laurent Bourgouin has a diverse work experience in the energy and utilities industry. Laurent co-founded Samp in 2019, where they serve as the CEO. Prior to that, they worked at Dassault Systèmes as a Technical & Solutions Director and as a Solution Experience Leader for the Energy, Process, and Utilities sector. Before joining Dassault Systèmes, they held positions at Wood as a Technology Manager & Business Developer, and as a Business Developer & Consultant Engineer. Laurent also has experience from their time at ENGIE as a Project Manager / Team Leader and at GDF SUEZ as a Pipeline Engineer. Laurent started their career with an internship at CEA - Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives, where they conducted a feasibility study. Laurent's expertise lies in various aspects of energy and utilities, including technology management, business development, project management, risk management, and pipeline engineering.
Laurent Bourgouin obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Centrale Nantes from 2001 to 2004. Laurent then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computational Fluid Dynamics at The University of Queensland from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, they also obtained an Engineer's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Centrale Nantes.
