Daniel Ling has a diverse work experience spanning a variety of industries. In 2020, they became the Director of Business Ventures, Business Ventures Manager and Scientific Manager, New Ventures Lead, and Fellow - Venture and Research at the Laboratory for Research in Complex Systems, where they researched the mathematics of pandemics, COVID-19 response efforts, and pandemic prevention, as well as incubated ventures and startups. Daniel also became the Head of Growth and Cofounder, Founding Team, Product at Sample.Exchange, a software venture and spin-out of the Laboratory for Research in Complex Systems that aids the development of urgently needed novel vaccines, including the COVID-19 vaccine. In 2019, they became an Investor at PJC, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on investing in, supporting, and building relationships with founders who are creating the future. Daniel also became a Fellow at the Global Viral Forecasting Initiative. In 2014, they became the Founder of Absolute Value and Investor and Advisor to 30+ early-stage technology companies. In 2019, they became the Director, Strategy and Communications at the United States Presidential Scholars Foundation. In 2016, they became an Investment Analyst at Morgan Stanley. In 2015, they became a Mechanism Design/Game Theory Researcher (Advisor: Prof. Stephen E. Morris) at Princeton University and Financial Mathematics/Public Policy Research at the Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy & Finance.
Daniel Ling attended East Greenwich High School from 2008 to 2012, where they graduated as Valedictorian. Daniel then attended Princeton University from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) degree in Economics and Applied Mathematics, with distinction. Daniel also took courses at Stanford University in Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science. Additionally, they attended Elckerlyc International School.
