Myra Ruth Allen

Myra Ruth Allen is an experienced professional currently serving as an Enzyme Production Technician at Samsara Eco since August 2023. Previously, Myra held the position of Laboratory Demonstrator at UNSW Canberra from March 2020 to August 2023. Myra's academic career includes a role as an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines from June 2013 to August 2018, where Myra developed innovative experiential learning methods for over 500 students and mentored twelve undergraduate researchers in various materials engineering disciplines. As a Study Leader for a Rubber Project, Myra led a team in exploring sustainable alternatives to carbon black for motorcycle tires and contributed to multiple publications and conference presentations. Additionally, Myra coordinated the Materials Engineering program's curriculum development, involving collaboration with faculty to prepare for new K-12 program entrants. Myra holds a PhD in Physics from UNSW, a Master’s in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering, and a Bachelor’s in Materials Engineering from the University of the Philippines.
