Daniel Millington has a diverse work experience in software engineering and management roles. Daniel is currently working as a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Samsara, Inc since January 2019. Prior to this, they served as an Engineering Manager, SRE at Cisco Meraki from June 2016 to January 2019, where they led an international team responsible for the upkeep of Dashboard, a web-based tool for managing networking infrastructure.
Before their role at Cisco Meraki, they worked as a Platform Engineer at SendHub from April 2015 to May 2016. During this time, they performed backend development for a Python application, updated and maintained the backend text-messaging infrastructure, and automated the stack using Chef and AWS.
From November 2013 to April 2015, Daniel worked as a Software Engineer at Cantada, Inc, where they performed full-stack Java development work for an Android tablet controlled shooting range target scoring system and redesigned the test infrastructure for a small research lab.
Prior to this, they served as a Software Engineer at SoundExchange from May 2012 to March 2014, where they provided full-stack software development across various company projects, migrated and performed production deployments of company websites to AWS, and led the development of a Python Django-based Online Registration website for music artists.
Daniel also has experience working at Cantada, Inc as a Software Engineer from December 2008 to May 2012. Daniel was responsible for overall software engineering and system administration of a small research lab, conducted technical interviews for interns, and developed programs for embedded systems.
Before their role at Cantada, Inc, they worked at The Boeing Company as a Software Engineer from May 2007 to December 2008. Daniel supported an existing large-scale radio hardware/software system written in C++.
In 2006, Daniel worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at Hope College, where they created an email client for older adults in C# based on previous research as part of the Hope College Research Experiences for Undergraduates program.
Daniel Millington attended Capitol Technology University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science. Daniel later enrolled at the University of Maryland Baltimore County to pursue a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science.
