Dawei Ji is a dedicated researcher with experience as a Research Assistant at Samsara Eco since June 2022 and previously at the University of Otago from May 2019 to December 2020. Dawei is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Protein Engineering at The Australian National University, expected to be completed in 2024. Dawei holds a Master of Science (MS) in Food Science from the University of Otago, earned in 2019, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Science (Food Science) from Auckland University of Technology, completed in 2017.

Samsara, in collaboration with a leading Australian research institution has developed an enzymatic technology that recycles plastics. The depolymerisation process is energy and cost effective converting heterogeneous plastics and hard to recycle plastics back to their original monomers for reuse as recycled inputs in the production of new plastics allowing for the infinite recycling of plastics.
