Sam Lane has an extensive work experience in the field of fermentation and biochemistry. From 2010 to 2023, Sam has held various roles in different companies. Sam's recent role was as the Head of Fermentation at Samsara Eco since July 2023. Before that, Sam worked as a Senior Fermentation Development Engineer at Meati Foods from March 2022 to June 2023. Sam also worked at NewLeaf Symbiotics, Inc. as a Fermentation Research Associate from July 2020 to February 2022 and as a Formulations Research Associate from September 2017 to July 2020. Prior to that, Sam served as an Operations Engineer at Agri-Energy, LLC/Gevo Inc. from September 2016 to September 2017. Sam also has experience as a Brewer at Sick N Twisted Brewery from March 2015 to June 2016 and as a Research Assistant at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology from August 2012 to May 2016. Furthermore, Sam worked as a Process Engineer at Novozymes from August 2011 to August 2012 and as a Production Engineer at Archer Daniels Midland from June 2010 to August 2011.
Sam Lane earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering from South Dakota Mines from 2006 to 2010. Following this, Sam pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the same institution from 2012 to 2016. In addition to these degrees, Sam Lane obtained an Engineer-in-Training certification from NCEES in May 2010.
