Jose Restituyo

Jose Restituyo, PhD, MBA has a diverse work experience that includes roles in various industries. Jose currently serves as the Director of Business Development for North America and Europe at Samsung Biologics, a position they have held since 2023.

From 2021 to 2023, Restituyo worked as the Head of Technical Operations at SCA Pharma, where they were responsible for leading and managing technical operations, providing support for marketed products and product development.

Prior to that, from 2018 to 2021, they held the position of Associate Director of Global Sourcing at AbbVie, a global pharmaceutical company. Before that, they were a Senior Global Sourcing Manager and a Principal Chemist II at the same company.

Restituyo also gained experience at Abbott, where they worked as a Senior Research Chemist from 2006 to 2012. Jose started their career as a Graduate Student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2001 to 2006.

In addition to their industry experience, Restituyo served as a Board Member for the Illinois Finance Authority from 2020 to 2021.

Jose Restituyo, PhD, MBA has a Master of Business Administration degree in Strategy, Operations, and General Management from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Jose also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. Furthermore, they have a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jose also obtained a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Abbott.
