Amer Samman has an extensive work experience in various companies and roles. Amer currently holds the position of Vice President of Product Development at Samsung Electro-Mechanics since 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Avago Technologies, Inc. Wireless Semiconductor Division from 2006 to 2020, where they served as a Senior R&D/NPI Engineer-Manager. In this role, they were responsible for anticipating customer needs, innovating solutions, and leading the development and production release of new products. Before that, Amer worked at Agilent Technologies, Inc., Semiconductor Products Group from 2000 to 2005 as a Senior R&D Engineer/FBAR Product Manager. Amer was involved in the technology transfer and manufacturing efforts for Film Bulk Acoustic wave Resonators (FBAR) and led the integration of multiple test and characterization modules into a single program for production release. Amer also has prior experience at Ford Motor Company, starting in 1988 and ending in 2000, where they served as a Sen R&D Staff Engineer in the Micro-Sensors and Micro-Actuators Department. In this role, they conducted research on the use of Infrared Laser diodes and detectors for automotive applications and evaluated LIDAR system topologies.

Amer Samman completed a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University between 1993 and 1997. Prior to that, they obtained an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University during the period of 1986 to 1987. Earlier, they obtained a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University, which they completed between 1982 and 1985.
