Byung-Gi An has extensive work experience in the research and development field. Byung-Gi began their career at KEC Corporation in 2000 as an R&D researcher, focusing on IR image sensor and module design. Byung-Gi worked on projects involving uncooled IR sensors and modules using pyroelectric material and ROIC integration until 2004. In 2004, they joined Samsung Electro-Mechanics as a Principal Engineer, a role they held until 2020. During their time at Samsung, they served as the Vice President and Group Leader of the Advanced R&D Group, where they led research and development for actuator, software, and advanced module design. Presently, they hold the position of VP of R&D at Samsung Electro-Mechanics.
Byung-Gi An's education history includes a Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from Yonsei University, which they obtained from 2012 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Electronic Material at the University of Ulsan from 1999 to 2001. Additionally, they briefly attended Tomsk Polytechnic University in 1999, where they pursued a Master's degree in Electro-materials.
