Hoon Kim

Hoon Kim possesses extensive experience in engineering and product design, with a notable career spanning several influential companies. Beginning as a Visiting Scholar at Sandia National Laboratories, Hoon advanced to a Senior Research Engineer at Samsung Display, where foundational work on the foldable display module architecture contributed to the development of the Galaxy Fold. Following a period at Semprius, Hoon held engineering manager positions at Apple, focusing on product design and display engineering. Currently, Hoon serves as the Head of Next Generation Product Group at Samsung Electronics. Educationally, Hoon holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Science and Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
