Yong Lak Joo

Yong Lak Joo currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Research Development at Samsung SDI since July 2023. Prior to this role, Yong Lak Joo has been a part of Cornell University since July 2001, holding positions as the BP Amoco/H. Laurance Fuller Professor and Senior Associate Dean for Masters Programs. Before joining Cornell, Yong Lak Joo was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at MIT from March 1999 to June 2001 and worked as a Senior Research Engineer at Hanwha Group from September 1993 to January 1999. Yong Lak Joo earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University (1989-1993) and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Seoul National University (1985-1989).
