Maggie Smith

Maggie Smith, CPA, CIA, currently serves as Principal Business Analyst at San Diego Gas & Electric since November 2019, where responsibilities include developing and monitoring the annual budget, managing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance across departments, and leading financial planning for the 2024 general rate case. Previously, at Sempra Energy from February 2013 to November 2019, Maggie held the position of Senior Auditor, leading a variety of audit projects, supervising staff auditors, and specializing in audits of large capital infrastructure projects. Additional experience includes positions as Auditor II at Moss Adams LLP, Senior Accountant at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, and Staff Accountant at Beers + Cutler, with a solid foundation in financial reporting, assurance services, and public accounting. Maggie earned a B.S. in Commerce with a focus on Accounting from the University of Virginia.
