Jenn Behrens, specializes in privacy, governance, and identity management. She is Partner and Executive Vice President of Privacy for KUMA, and is contracted through KUMA to provide Chief Information Security and Privacy services for San Diego Health Connect (SDHC). Jenn works with local, state, federal and commercial organizations to develop and mature information security and privacy programs. She guides companies in establishing robust governance structures, and leads organizational negotiation of privacy and security controls with business drivers. Jenn leads privacy efforts for multiple federal government pilots focused on the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC), is the Identity Ecosystem Steering Group (IDESG) Plenary Chair, is a former IDESG Privacy Committee Chair, served as a Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Patient Identity Integrity Workgroup Member, and is an International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Women Leading Privacy Advisory Board Member. She is a sought-after speaker, presenting for multiple years at conferences such as IAPP’s "Privacy.Security.Risk" conference, RSA, IAPP’s Global Privacy Summit, Global Identity Summit, Solove’s Privacy + Security Forum, Ping Cloud Identity Summit and more.
Jenn has BA (UVA), MSW (VCU), and Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration (VCU.) Jenn holds CIPP/US, CIPP/G, CIPM and CHPSE credentials, and was recently recognized by IAPP as a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP).
