Skip Carpowich is currently the CFO & COO at SAN DIEGO JEWISH ACADEMY. Skip has previously served as an Executive Consultant at Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine and BioMed Realty Trust. Carpowich has also been with La Jolla Institute for Immunology for over two decades, where they were responsible for all business, legal and financial affairs. Under their leadership, the Institute grew from $5 million to $50 million in annual revenue and from around 50 employees to over 400, including over 150 Ph.D.'s. The Institute was ranked as the #1 best place to work in the U.S. academic research community (The Scientist Magazine) and ranked fifth in the world among all organizations for its research impact in the field of immunology (Thomson Reuters) during Carpowich's tenure.
Skip Carpowich attended San Diego State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accountancy.
They are on a team with Yael Edelstein - Early Childhood Center Director, Kwaku Aning - Director, Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurial Thinking, and Allie Hauser - Head of Lower School. Skip Carpowich reports to Zvi Weiss, Head of School.
