Mary Polan is an experienced exercise physiologist currently working at San Diego Sports Medicine & Family Health Center and serving as an intern at Sharp HealthCare. With a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from San Diego State University, Mary has gained extensive experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant, along with roles as a Research Assistant at the Naval Health Research Center. Prior work includes positions as a Medical Assistant and Physical Therapy Aide at Alta Orthopaedics, Facility Fitness Staff at the University of California Recreation Center, and Assistant Manager at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Mary has built a solid foundation in both clinical and research settings.

SDSM started in 1980 by Dr. E. Lee Rice, DO, with a vision to not only give excellent quality medical care, but also allow our patients to achieve optimum health and fitness. Health is much more than just absence of disease. Our goals are to treat diseases and manage injuries, as well as educate our patients on how to realize their true potential.
