Karla Thompson

Karla Thompson is a seasoned leader in youth sports, currently serving as the Director of Youth Development for the National Women's Soccer League since July 2024. With a long-standing association with the U.S. Soccer Federation, Karla has held roles as a Staff Instructor and US Soccer Coaching Educator since April 2010. Additionally, Karla is the President/CEO of the Women in Youth Sports Coalition, working to promote women's integration and success in coaching and administrative positions within youth sports. Previous positions include Executive Director of Performance and Development at San Diego Wave FC, Assistant Technical Director at the Arizona Soccer Association, and various coaching and operational roles at clubs such as the Arizona Soccer Club and Arizona Fury Soccer Club. Karla's educational background includes a degree from Colorado College, completed between 1988 and 1992.
