Alison Romano has extensive work experience in the investment industry. Alison currently serves as the CEO & CIO at the San Francisco Employees' Retirement System (SFERS), starting in June 2022. Prior to this role, they worked at the State Board of Administration of Florida, where they held various positions, including Deputy Chief Investment Officer from December 2019 to June 2022, Senior Investment Officer from February 2015 to November 2019, and Senior Portfolio Manager from January 2009 to January 2015. Before joining the State Board of Administration of Florida, Alison briefly worked as an Independent Finance Consultant at MeriCap Credit Corp in 2007. Alison began their career at Goldman Sachs, where they held positions such as Vice President from December 2004 to March 2006, Associate from August 2001 to November 2004, and Analyst from February 1999 to July 2001.
Alison Romano has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Alison also holds a degree in Finance, General (BSEcon) from The Wharton School.
