Barry Hooper

Senior Green Building Coordinator at San Francisco Environment Department

Barry Hooper is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in green building and energy efficiency. Currently serving as the Senior Green Building Coordinator for the San Francisco Department of the Environment since June 2008, Barry manages the implementation of building performance labeling and energy audit requirements for commercial buildings while providing technical support for the city's Green Building code. Previously, Barry held the position of Green Building and Energy Coordinator for the City of San Jose, overseeing energy efficiency programs and green building policies. Barry’s earlier experience includes providing energy policy recommendations as an Energy Commissioner for the County of Santa Cruz and serving as a Green Building and Energy Efficiency Specialist at Ecology Action. Barry holds a Master of Environmental Science and Management and a Master of Arts in Geography from UC Santa Barbara, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Management from Claremont McKenna College.
