Edwin Poon

Edwin Poon, PhD, currently serves as the Chief Health Equity Officer at San Francisco Health Plan, where responsibilities include executive management and leadership for Care Management, Population Health, Quality Improvement, and Behavioral Health. Poon has extensive experience in behavioral health services, having previously held the position of Deputy Director of Managed Care at the County of Santa Clara Behavioral Health Services Department, focusing on the Medi-Cal Behavioral Health Plan and departmental strategy development. Prior roles include Director of Behavioral Health Services at CalOptima, Director of Behavioral Health Clinical Services at L.A. Care Health Plan, and Behavioral Health Manager at CalOptima, as well as experience as a Staff Psychologist and Senior Psychologist at various institutions. Poon holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Michigan State University, alongside degrees in Psychology from McGill University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta. Completion of the California Health Care Foundation Health Care Leadership Program further enhances Poon's leadership capabilities in health care management.
