Kati Vastola is an experienced professional with a strong background in operations, communications, and project management. Currently serving as the Operations & Communications Director at the San Francisco Housing Accelerator Fund since January 2020, Kati previously held the position of Regional Affairs Manager at KIPP Public Schools Northern California from January 2016 to April 2019, where responsibilities included internal and external communications, project management, and board liaison duties. Kati has also worked as an Editorial & Communications Consultant, providing research and writing services for clients, and gained academic experience as a Graduate Student Instructor at UC Berkeley. Additional roles include Laboratory Office Coordinator at TJH2b Analytical Services, Instructor at Revolution Prep, and Catering Prep Student Supervisor at Brown University Dining Services. Kati holds a Master’s Degree in History from UC Berkeley and an AB with Honors in History from Brown University.

The Housing Accelerator Fund (the HAF) is an innovative nonprofit lender and Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). Established in 2017 by the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development, we create public-private partnerships and leverage private, philanthropic, and public capital to stem displacement of low-income and working families and accelerate the production of new affordable housing across the Bay Area.
