Kate Michelle McCarthy

Kate Michelle McCarthy serves as the Public Outreach and Engagement Manager at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) since October 2014, where the administration of award-winning multilingual communications programs has supported significant transportation initiatives. Previously, Kate engaged stakeholders as a Public Information Officer for the SFMTA's Van Ness Improvement Project and contributed to various nonprofit organizations, including serving on the Board of Directors for the California Bicycle Coalition and Walk San Francisco, where leadership in advocacy for safe transportation options was demonstrated. Educational background includes a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder, complemented by teaching experience at Elmhurst Middle School and a tenure with Teach For America.
