Kathryn Phelan is a dedicated legal professional currently serving as a Legal Intern at the San Francisco Public Defender's Office since August 2023. Phelan's prior experience includes roles as an Immigration Legal Intern at The Justice and Diversity Center of The Bar Association of San Francisco and a Criminal Central Extern at the Supreme Court of California. With a background that includes various legal internships focusing on immigration and eviction defense, as well as experience as a paralegal, Phelan has developed a strong foundation in legal practices. In addition to legal work, Phelan has experience in education as a Teacher Assistant and has conducted community outreach and advocacy efforts through internships at YWCA organizations. Phelan is pursuing a Juris Doctor at Golden Gate University, School of Law, and has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder.
