Leo Fissel

Leo Fissel has extensive experience in the legal field, serving as a Deputy Public Defender (VAP) and previously as a Post-Bar Fellow at the San Francisco Public Defender's Office since October 2020. Prior to this role, Leo was a Certified Law Clerk at the same office from January 2019 to June 2020 and completed a Judicial Externship for the Honorable Linda Colfax at the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco in 2018, where research and legal memoranda drafting were key responsibilities. Leo also interned at the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence in 2015, focusing on gun violence prevention programs, and worked as a Reader at UC Irvine, assisting with coursework and grading. Leo holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from UC Irvine.
