Frederick Smith

Frederick Smith is the AVP of Equity & Community Inclusion at San Francisco State University. Frederick has over thirteen years of experience working in higher education administration with a focus on student success and support services. Prior to joining San Francisco State University, Frederick was the Director of Cross Cultural Centers at California State University, Los Angeles from February 2006 to July 2019. Frederick has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Morehouse College and a Master's degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania.

Frederick Smith has a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Loyola Marymount University in Educational Leadership for Social Justice. Frederick also has a Master’s Degree from Loyola University Chicago in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration. Frederick Smith’s Bachelor’s Degree is from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Radio-Television Reporting and Anchoring.
