Substitute Musician at San Francisco Symphony

Roman Fukshansky is a multifaceted musician and legal professional with extensive experience in both fields. Currently, Roman serves as the Assistant to the President at the American Federation of Musicians Local 6, focusing on contract negotiations and administration. As a music faculty member at UC Santa Cruz since 2014, Roman provides collegiate and graduate-level instruction in clarinet. Additionally, Roman performs regularly as a principal clarinetist with both the Berkeley Symphony and Symphony Napa Valley, along with roles as a substitute musician with the San Francisco Symphony and San Francisco Opera. Roman's background includes leadership as the Executive Director of the Vallejo Symphony Association and co-founding Ensemble San Francisco. Roman holds a Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law, along with degrees in music from prestigious institutions including the Manhattan School of Music and the University of Southern California.
