Candace Yu serves as a Principal at YouTube, where she leads global consumer-facing impact initiatives, including the content acquisition of social issue documentaries, content partnerships, and product feature development. She joined Google, YouTube's parent company, by way of its acquisition of cybersecurity start-up Impermium. She builds upon previous public service as a policy advisor in the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon, an Obama appointee at the White House, and a legislative staffer at the United States Senate. Since returning to San Francisco, Candace has volunteered with the Hamlin School Alumnae Association, including a term as President and Ex-Officio Member of the Board of Trustees, co-chaired The Little School's Annual Fund, and served as a Co-Director of the Truman National Security Project's San Francisco Bay Area chapter. After graduating from UHS, Candace earned an undergraduate degree from Barnard College (Columbia University) and a graduate degree in public policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
