Raj Patel is a managing member of Farallon Capital Management, a global institutional asset management firm based in San Francisco. Farallon pursues opportunistic investments primarily in credit, public equities, merger arbitrage, and real estate around the globe. He co-manages the U.S. credit portfolio and is a member of the firm’s global investment committee. He recently served as a trustee and treasurer of the Hamlin School of San Francisco and a Cornell ORIE Advisory Council member. Raj currently serves on the Stanford Graduate School of Business Trust and Cornell’s Financial Engineering Manhattan (CFEM) Advisory Council. In addition, Raj has served as a board member or observer for numerous companies on behalf of Farallon Capital, most recently Nexvet Biopharma. Before joining Farallon in 1997, Raj gained experience working as an analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York on the project finance team in investment banking. Raj graduated from Cornell University (BS, operations research and industrial engineering) as a Merrill Presidential Scholar and Stanford Graduate School of Business (MBA, Finance).
