Sumer Avila

Sumer Avila has extensive experience in educational leadership, currently serving as Provost at San Joaquin Valley College since December 2010. Responsibilities include ensuring academic equity, maintaining program integrity, and overseeing accreditation and compliance. Prior roles include Vice Provost, Campus President, Campus Director, and Director of Instruction, with a focus on operational effectiveness, strategic leadership, and instructional development. Previous experience includes serving as Principal and Vice Principal at Central Unified School District from July 2004 to December 2010. Sumer Avila holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University, an Administrative Credential from CSU Fresno, and a Master of Education (MEd) from California State University, Northridge.
