Josselin Villegas-Gomez

Josselin Villegas-Gomez is the Director of Corpsmember Development at SJCC+CS. Josselin has dedicated their career to education and supporting underserved communities.

Josselin started their teaching career as a Teaching Associate with Citizen Schools, where they worked with middle school students from low-income communities. There, they developed their skills in creating engaging lesson plans and building positive relationships with students.

In 2018, they joined Summit Public Schools as an Environmental Science Teacher. In this role, they continued to hone their skills in designing rigorous academic content while also teaching students social and emotional skills. Josselin also began to develop their expertise in data analysis, using student performance data to inform their instruction and improve student outcomes.

Most recently, they served as a Biology Teacher at Alpha Public Schools. In this role, they led a high-performing classroom of Biology students, fostering a positive and safe learning environment. Josselin also maintained open lines of communication with students, families, and staff, and participated in professional development opportunities to continue growing as an educator.

Josselin Villegas-Gomez has a Master of Arts in Education from the University of the Pacific - Benerd College, and a Bachelor of Science in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Merced. They also have certification from the University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources as a California Naturalist Instructor, certification from the University of the Pacific - Benerd College as a Teacher, Science (Life), certification from the American Red Cross as an Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, and certification from the American Red Cross as a First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor.
