Brad Guy

Brad Guy has extensive experience in emergency services and sports instruction. Currently, Brad serves as a firefighter with the San José Fire Department since November 2018 and has also worked as a firefighter/paramedic at Ebbetts Pass Fire Department since March 2009. Prior to these roles, Brad was a public safety radio dispatcher for the San José Fire Department from January 2011 to 2018 and completed an internship as a firefighter/paramedic with the Sacramento Fire Department from 2007 to 2009. Earlier in their career, Brad played as a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1997 to 2003 and served as a professional baseball instructor at the Baseball Mentoring Program in Sacramento from 2005 to 2010. Brad holds multiple Associate of Arts degrees in paramedicine, aviation administration, and physical education, physics, math, and science, from institutions including American River College, California State University, Los Angeles, and Sacramento City College.

The San José Fire Department (SJFD) is committed to serving the community by protecting life, property, and the environment through prevention and response. San José was founded in 1777 and is located in the South San Francisco Bay area within Santa Clara County, CA. It is the 10th largest city in the US and the 3rd largest in California.
