San José Fire Department
Thanh Ho is an experienced fire service professional currently serving as a Fire Captain with the San José Fire Department since January 2021, and has held the role of Fire Engineer with the same department since March 2000. Additionally, Thanh Ho has been a CPAT Proctor for California Professional Firefighters since January 2002, overseeing candidates during their testing. Thanh Ho is also involved in education, providing instruction in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses, and has been a Paramedic Instructor for multiple institutions including Foothill-De Anza Community College District and NCTI since 2007. Instruction in CPR and First Aid has been offered with Annuvia from December 2011 to January 2021. Thanh Ho's educational background includes studies at Mt. San Antonio College from 1991 to 1997 and California State Polytechnic University-Pomona from 1989 to 1991.

In terms of critical infrastructure, SJFD is the emergency service provider for a number of high-hazard occupancies, including an International Airport; 1 municipal airport; 7 major hospitals (including 3 trauma centers, and 7 emergency departments); the SAP Center, home of the NHL San Jose Sharks, (maximum occupancy 20,000); San José State University (the oldest public institution of higher education on the West Coast), student population of 31,906; three super regional malls; and 516 high-rise structures.
