Mayor Juan Gonzalez

Mayor Juan Gonzalez currently serves as Mayor of San Leandro and holds multiple positions including Commissioner at the Alameda County Transportation Commission and Board Member at both the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and East Bay Community Energy, all since 2023. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Gonzalez previously worked as a Principal in Risk Compliance and Forensics at KPMG from 1993 to 2023. During their tenure at KPMG, Mayor Juan also led a team as the Modeling & Analytics Solution Leader from 2017 to 2019, focusing on advanced analytics for managing regulatory and market-related risks. Dr. Gonzalez has academic experience as a lecturer at UC Berkeley and MIT, and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin.
